Ladies. We are not rockstars on a rampage at The Beverly Hills Hotel. At least not at 10am wedding day. ๐ค๐ป
One of the most helpful things you can do as a bridesmaid, is make sure your duffle bag full of bras & heels isn't thrown across the getting ready space where a wedding dress is eventually being put on. ๐
Listen, I know we have a lot of stuff. But I've seen everything from sprawls of half eaten bagels, to rolled up Spanx someone decided not to wear, to 1000 Tim Hortons iced coffee cups. And this is our bride's backdrop that she needs magazine worthy. ๐ฅฏ
We usually have 1 room/space to work with. And I'm always happy to help clean up an area before we put a wedding dress on. But up to that point, it's candid. And I hate to be harsh, but I assure you the 8 breakfast sandwich wrappers on the tv stand is not something getting photoshopped out later on.
Pro Tip for the bride: Megaphone Organization.
Show your ladies when entering the bridal space where they can put their bags. On the floor, by a wall, away from windows is mostly a safe bet. Kitchens are usually photo-free areas as well. But when bags are on furniture or beds is when the waterfall of mess spills out of them. ๐
Explain to your bridesmaids (and maybe yourself haha) that this is where you'll be putting on your wedding dress for photos. As self-explanatory as that may seem, a lot of girls have so much going on to try and help a bride feel relaxed in the morning, to getting their own kids to nap before the ceremony, yet also getting themselves picture perfect. The space doesn't always ring a bell as to where the bridal portraits will happen too. Just fill them in.
Ask them to throw their garbage out when done. Again, those. red. iced coffee. straws. ugh. ๐ฅค
Assign your most Type A Tidy Bridesmaid the role of keeping the room in line the morning of the wedding. She will be honored to help, I promise.
By the time we're ready to put your wedding dress on, we'll have saved tons of time for cleanup we didn't need to worry about because of these steps! โ๏ธ
