Pro Tip: Ceremony Placement

Pro Tip: Please rethink your desire to get married under the Cinderella gazebo 🛖

I know that it looks pretty in person.
I know that you can decorate it to really pop underneath it while you say your vows.
I know that's what the venue has set up.
But in the photography world, it's a nightmare. 👹

You encapsulate yourselves under a dark structure that blocks light like blackout shades, while your guests require sunglasses from getting baked in the 1:00 sunlight.

t's called uneven exposure in my world. And is a hot mess to "fix". I either have to choose to "light" the two of you with my camera settings, which results in your guests getting blown out and looking like bodies made of radioactive lightbulbs in the photo. ☠️

Or I can choose to have your guests look normal in the photo, and you'll be hiding under a beach umbrella saying I Do. ⛱ P.S. I always choose the couple. Sorry not sorry guests.

Things I've seen go very wrong:
😑gazebos
😑pergolas
😑chuppas with solid fabric
😑tents just for the wedding party
😑tents just for the guests

Things I've seen go very right:
😍sheer fabric framing
😍any structure without a roof/ceiling
😍floral arches you dont actually stand under
😍tents that everyone is under
😍stages/platforms

And if you have the option, backlit is best. Backlit means the sun is behind the ceremony, like a backdrop behind the couple. ☀️

If you have any questions about what to do for your own ceremony, this is what I'm here for guys. I love to talk about setting photos up for success when we have options.
